What's the carbon
footprint?
The 'Carbon footprint' is a measure of greenhouse gas emissions, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2), directly or indirectly produced by human activities such as energy consumption, transportation, production of goods, and other activities. It represents the company's contribution to climate change and is calculated in CO2 equivalent units. Reducing the Carbon footprint is a key objective to mitigate environmental impact and slow down climate change.
The new C-67 collection, designed by Carlo Colombo, is the first collection to obtain the Carbon footprint certification.

- EMISSIONS
The Carbon footprint is a parameter of great importance and utility to evaluate and understand the impact of a product on the environment. This knowledge enables consumers and businesses to make more informed decisions, choosing products with lower carbon emissions and promoting more sustainable production practices. Reducing the Carbon footprint of a product is essential to mitigate climate change and preserve environmental resources for future generations.
IN WHAT DOES CERTIFICATION CONSIST OF?
The certification specifically attests that the methodological approach adopted for the production of product C-67 and its variations is in line with standards such as:
- UNI EN ISO 14064 - "Greenhouse Gases - Part 1",
- UNI EN ISO 14067 - "Product Carbon Footprint",
- GHG Protocol, GRI 305,
- UNI EN ISO 14040 - "Environmental management - Life Cycle Assessment - Principles and Framework".
Reference Year: 2023/2024/2025.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a methodology that considers all CO2 emissions related to the life cycle stages of a product, taking into account the materials and energy used in the manufacturing phase,
transportation, operation, and finally the disposal or recycling of the product at the end of its life cycle. This approach is defined as 'Cradle to Grave,' literally from the cradle to the grave.
OUR SUPPLY CHAIN
We have noted the energy consumption of the machinery involved in production, the materials used in product composition, the units manufactured, and their respective weights. This enabled the application of emission factors, derived from specialized databases or calculated specifically for each unit, allowing for the assessment of the total CO2 emitted within this production scope.
The total calculated emissions amount to 22.2 metric tons of CO2 equivalent, which will be fully offset by Upgreene.
